There are three types of postgraduate degree in Australia: course work, research and master with honors.

Course-work programs can also be divided into Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master degree.

If students cannot get to the master degree directly, they can do a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma first.

Master by research degree has stricter requirements. Generally speaking, students need to have a close connection with professor.
